WELCOME TO THE MANOR SCHOOL OF BALLET

The Manor School of Ballet aims to develop confident, creative and skilled performers through a variety of dance disciplines. We want to achieve this through an atmosphere of professional skills including poise and self confidence in a happy and friendly environment.

The Manor School of Ballet was founded in 1972 and has produced dancers who have joined the Royal Ballet School, Pact Ballet Company in South Africa, Scottish Ballet, numerous London musicals and several contemporary dance companies throughout the United Kingdom.

Ballet classes are taught for pupils aged 2 1/2 to adults. Tap, Jazz, Highland and Singing classes are also taught

Pupils are entered for The Royal Academy of Dance children's classical ballet grades, along with United Kingdom Alliance awards. Major syllabus is also studied with The Royal Academy of Dance and Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing.

A variety of shows are produced for all pupils to enhance their performance within a theatre environment.

Classes are held in many nursery schools and in various areas around Edinburgh, namely Belgrave, Corstorphine, Inverleith, Goldenacre, Marchmont and St.Annes. To serve the Scottish Borders area, classes are also run in Galashiels.
