AUGUST 2007
Welcome back, we hope you have all enjoyed the summer break and looking forward to the busy term ahead.
We finished last term just after our senior show Alice in Wonderland, which was a huge success and are eager to close the accounts and make our donation to the chosen charity. There are still a number of unpaid accounts and would urge you to settle all accounts as soon as possible. We would also like to extend our gratitude and thanks to all those children, parents, volunteers and staff that made the show possible and worked so hard to make it a success.
In June some of the junior grades sat exams with the U.K.A in ballet, tap and jazz. Congratulations to all those who took part and remember to come to class and collect your certificates and awards which have now arrived.
Looking forward to this coming term we have a number of events happening, beginning with the imminent arrival of Miss Casey's baby which is due in the middle of September, this will of course mean she will be absent from classes for most of this term and other members of staff will be covering her maternity leave.
We have a couple of new members of staff this year, Lesley Reid and Michelle Dickson who will be joining us in August.
Scholarship auditions for the performance class on Friday evenings will take place on Saturday 8th September. Application forms can be collected from your class teacher and must be returned by 3rd September (Grade 4 level and above only).
The next UKA exam session is booked for the end of November. The relevant classes will be notified in due course. The next RAD exam/presentation session will be held in February.
The Manor School has been asked again this year to perform with The Children's Classic Concerts conducted by Christopher Bell, unfortunately because of the work being carried out in the Usher Hall this year we will only be taking part in their Glasgow Concert on Saturday 1st December.
JUNIOR SHOW
We know the junior school is excited about their Christmas show and letters will be coming out in the first few weeks of term with all the details. Children will be performing for one night only between the 2nd - 8th December. Galashiels will be slightly earlier in November and dates will follow.
